Smoker Max Luther with Apple Tree

What does the Reformer actually have to do with an apple tree? Not insignificant, is the answer. There are many legends about Martin Luther and trees. He was a man who loved trees and greenery. In the fresh green and the sprouting of trees in spring, he saw a symbol of the resurrection of the dead and divine grace in human existence. The Erzgebirge artisans from Rothenkirchen have taken up this theme and, in the Luther Year 2017, made it the motif for a new incense smoker, Max Luther with an apple tree. With a small tree in his left hand and a spade in his right, he sets about planting an apple tree, thus making his contribution to divine grace in earthly existence. With a corpulent body and wrapped in a black cloak, his person is unmistakable. His 17 cm tall figure was handcrafted, using only selected regional wood materials and tailored fabrics. And like every member of the Räuchermann Max series, he has a charming smile on his face.
